Pro-Makeup Tips You Need To Know

Updated: Feb 13, 2021

The world of makeup is ever-changing. There are so many rights and there are also so many no-nos. It also comes hand-in-hand with if a person has the natural talent of doing their own makeup. So, where exactly does that put you? No matter how artsy you are, there is always room to grow. Luckily, we put together a few simple tips that anyone can easily do. Makeup your morning (or night!) routine faster. Case in point: These tricks are simple, but make a world of difference and are tried and true.

Okay - lashes. Maybe not all of us have steady hands, but practice makes perfect. Invest in an eyelash curler ASAP. Trust us - they’re like a bra for your lashes. Once curled, add a few coats of an eyelash primer. This builds a solid foundation for your mascara and adds that extra boost of volume you need. Right afterward, apply your mascara on top like you normally would. It’s the ultimate beauty hack most people search for!

LIPS

It’s the cherry on top of a sundae… or the icing on the cake. Luscious lips play an important role in a makeup routine. If done wrong, well, it can be a recipe for disaster. Always exfoliate your lips with a lip scrub or even a soft toothbrush. This creates a soft base prior to lip application and rids of any dry, unwanted skin. Using an angled or oval brush, outline your lips in your desired color from a lip palette. Another simple option is using a lipliner. Either way, this allows an easy fill-in with a lip color. If you choose a liquid lipstick, apply from one side to the other.

EYES

You don’t always have to wing it. As I always tell clients, simply begin with an eye primer. Always avoid using concealer on the base of your eyelids - this can cause an unwanted crease. An eye primer helps for a smoother application process of shadows and for them to hold up longer. For beginners, use an eyeshadow that’s one or two shades darker than your skin tone. Apply this onto your eyelids. Using a shade or two lighter than your skin tone, go ahead and apply this color underneath your eyebrow. This will create a highlight that truly enhances your overall look. For the extra WOW factor, pop on those falsies!

FOUNDATION

Ahhhh… Sweet, sweet summertime. Wishing for a dewy, sun-kissed complexion? Then you really need glow drops. Various brands offer glow drops to illuminate your face. All you need to do is to add a few drops directly into your foundation. What’s even more beneficial is that most glow drops are usually packed with anti-aging and hydrating ingredients.

As always, make sure to cleanse your skin at the end of your day. Use a nighttime moisturizer to relax your mind - and skin, and help to make it smoother and brighter for the next day.
